GENERAL COMMENTS:
All in all, it was a rallying day for the livestock complex as all three of
the markets closed higher. But what really took the cake throughout Thursday's
trade was the massive jump in fed cash cattle prices in the North. Some light
trade has developed in Nebraska at $340 to $345, which is $11.00 to $16.00
higher than last week's weighted average. March corn is up 3 3/4 cents per
bushel and January soybean meal is down $0.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average
is down 87.50 points and NASDAQ is up 3.64 points.
